Vintage Dish Towel And Napkin Pillows.

I often pick up old dishtowels and napkins on my vintage treasure hunts. I was tired of just letting them sit on a shelf, or worse yet, watching one of the kids use one of my beautiful towels to actually clean the house with. Several of of my pretty embroidered towels have been ruined this way. I have been making pillows with some of my old linens.
This old American flour sack that I used some crochet on around the edges.

This red toweling fabric was sold by the yard in France, where I bought it.

I used buttons for the closure.

This pink napkin came from a French chateau.

I used some leftover linen for the back.

Great pillows! I’m thinking about making a few myself. And good idea about getting a few dishtowels so as not to ruin your pretty ones. Someday kids will be able to distinguish the best from the rest 🙂

I just wanted to thank you for your kind words and say I’m delighted that you use any photo or mine to post the draft on Saturday. Thank you again.
Of course, I am totally delighted with the beautiful idea of your cushions with napkins. Oh, my God! I have to steal your idea!

Good idea! I have the same stack of lovely napkins and tablecloth parts I’ve purchased here and there (none in France, I’m sorry to say) and every now and then I take them out and play with them, trying them this way and that, and nothing ever seems to come of it – pillows! Awesome idea 🙂
