The Norah Dress Inspired by Wednesday Addams

Norahdresstitlenorah dress pattern tour graphicI’m so excited to be a part of this guest tour for Hayley from Welcome To The Mouse House’s Norah Dress pattern tour!

OK… I totally love this dress pattern and had so much fun making this little dress inspired bu one of my favorite rerun heroines as a child.

Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family!

When I saw collar on the Norah pattern I knew I had to make it. Hayley’s design is easy, so simple to make and turned out so cute that I totally recommend this pattern.

It packs a lot of punch!

I did add some cuffs to the pattern and sewed on some vintage pearl buttons to give things my own

I made my cuffs slightly longer as I wanted more of an early 70’s feel on this dress.wednesday addams

This little girl had some attitude.norahblack&white

And so does mine!norahdress4

How cute is this collar?norahdress2We had fun taking these photos at grandpa’s and yaya’s house. So great thatΒ  they have a plain white wall for taking photos! I which I had one. I have an old board I painted white outside, instead.

I did change the pattern a little… and added a zipper instead of the button tab closing. Zippers are just easier for me and quicker. So I drafted a two inch facing instead of the partial lining. The pattern fit well and needed minimal fitting, I only removed 1/4 inch at the seams. Gigi is a skinny Minnie.Β  Hayley’s directions are fantastic.

An A plus for Hayley!sisters

Time for a dance party!norahdressLinked to We Did It Wedenesday

I love the cuffs you added- Wednesday is my fave!! The best part of this photoshoot is the one stocking up, and one down. You’ve captured the essence of little girl:)

Sophisticated black dress with white collar & cuffs … a FAB look for your young daughter to wear for “dressy” occasions! Her hairstyle, side braids, are “spot on!” Creative photos too. Thanks for sharing this pattern interpretation that reveals your sewing skills! Sarah Helene, Minneapolis

The contrast between the white collar/cuffs with the black dress is soooo striking! Everything about this dress is well-balanced, with the simple A-line shape, perfect length, long sleeves and white details. LOVE it!
