This year I’m participating in Me Made May again!
I did it in 2011, 2012, and 2013, but not last year.
This year has been fun for me, since I can fit into some things I haven’t worn in awhile. Middle age weight gain was creeping up on me and I could barely squeeze into a lot of my Me Mades from my earlier handmade wardrobe making days. In three years, I had put on ten pounds. But I’ve changed my eating habits and have been doing a lot more weight training as well as playing tennis a couple times a week, so I’m feeling good in my clothes again. No sugar, no grains, and no cheese or dairy except a little half and half in my coffee. Kind of boring, but it works.
Also, I noticed that my sewing taste has changed. When I started blogging I was making a lot of dresses. I think everyone does that, right? Then I got into making more casual and even boring things, like knit t shirts, and then my boho phase from last year. And now I don’t know. I’m all over the place when it comes to style, and there is no way I could ever do one of those capsule wardrobes. I guess it’s the costumer in me, but you never know when you might need a fringed leather jacket or a pair of paisley print pants! One thing I know is I love prints!
