Jalie Simone Justine AbbittHello readers. Happy New Year and new decade! And what a decade it was. But onward bound!

If you follow my Instagram you may have already seen these shorts, but I’m trying to get back in the swing of blogging, so I’m posting a backlog of projects!

These photos were taken back in August when I went to Tahiti for a wedding. It so beautiful there! A true paradise. I made a few projects to bring on the trip and these Jalie Simone shorts.

As usual, the Jalie pattern fit really well in the size that matched my measurements, which is R. I think this pattern is perfect for flowy rayon prints, which I used. The directions were great, and it was a quick sew and I’d recommend it for even a beginner since there are no closures and there’s an ingenious method for sewing the elastic waistband in back. I’d like to make a pair of the pants as well.

Jalie for the win!

Love. These. Shorts! The fabric is beautiful and really, really makes this. And I am so tired of winter already I can’t stand it. Thinking I already have a very similar simple shorts pattern, but need to dig through my PDF files and find it.

Really cute shorts Justine. I love the fabric too. Keep sewing.
