Easy Glitter Heart Tote Bag

Here’s a simple project made from one of those blank tote bags you can buy at the hobby store, red glitter, Mod Podge, and freezer paper. A big glitter heart on a tote bag! I originally had this post featured on Mod Podge Rocks and I know Valentine’s day is over, but hey, I love hearts year round!

This is a SUPER easy project to make

Here is what you need:

  • Freezer paper
  • A blank tote bag
  • red paint
  • red glitter
  • Mod Podge
  • A paint pouncer applicatortotebagCut out a heart shape from some thick scrap paper. I fold the paper in half and cut the heart on the fold to make it the same on both sides. I think I learned that in the third grade? hehe.

Iron the freezer paper to the tote.

Now paint the heart thickly, with the plain red paint.totetutorial2I like to mix equal parts Mod Podge with equal parts glitter in a Dixie cup. It will have a thick consistency that dries very glittery.

Tote tutorial4After the paint dries pounce the heart with the Mod Podge glitter mix.paintinbagIt doesn’t heart, I mean hurt, to have a cutie pie helper!
