DIY Striped Glitter Heels

DIY Striped Gitter Heels @ Sew Country ChickThis DIY shoe project was one of those projects that almost turned out perfect, but not quite. But I really like this idea, so I thought I’d share it anyway, in case you want to try it for yourselves. Maybe you’ll do a  better job! What I did was wrong was to let the paint dry before I pulled up the tape. If I had pulled up the tape when the paint was till wet , it wouldn’t have peeled bits of the paint off. Oh, well! Liva and learn.

But I kind of like the rough handmade striped look, and think these  look cute with jeans, although I probably wouldn’t wear them out for a night on the town. Maybe I should have just left the stripes off, leaving only the glitter heel. What do you think?

First I masked of the heel, painted the heel and under part of the shoe red, them mixed Mod Podge and glitter and applied it to the heel.

After that was dry, I used this really thin making tape meant for fashion draping to tape the top of the heels. Then i painted two coats of the red paint  on them.shoebefore5DIYstripedshoes

These shoes look amazing, I quite like the uneven stripe, have you ever thought of using masking fluid, you can paint it on and it just rubs off when dry. It’s used a lot for watercolour painting.

Your shoes came out great! Walk fast enough, and no one will see the imperfections that you see! 🙂

I think they’re really cute! Honestly, the paint looks to me as though it’s
suppose to look like. Sort of like this…

I love this idea! I think they turned out really cute. I like the rough appearance, even if it wasn’t quite what you were going for.
