Some of you who read this blog may have noticed I’ve been doing more craft projects lately. While sewing is still my first love, I’m trying to explore some other creative outlets. Things that are quick and easy. Recharging, if you will. This DIY Valentine mug would make a perfect and quick Valentine’s gift for someone.
The past few months I’ve been participating in a series hosted by the girls at Country Chic Cottage & Thirty Minute crafts called Craft Lightning ; craft projects that take 15 minutes or less. This mug was really quick to make. This month’s theme is of course, Valentine’s Day!
I bought a plain white mug from the Dollar Tree and got out some Martha Stewart reusable adhesive stencils from my craft stash. I used the Martha Stewart Glass paint in red and the little sponge pouncer applicators to apply it.
When working with glass paints on ceramics, the painted item should be baked in the oven on low heat to make the dish washable. The heat makes the glass paint very durable. If it’s not baked, the paint can scratch off easily.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you try painting on ceramics with glass paint and stencils. It’s REALLY easy!
