Hi everyone. If you are stopping by from Mommy by Day Crafter By Night welcome to Sew Country Chick!
If you haven't stopped by the contest, hop on over and vote for your favorite project on Wednesday!
When Ashley let me know the project for this week was sewing for the home I became excited because I have been wanting to combine something burlap with ruffles and a bright pop of color. I decided to make a puffy, round pillow.
I made this pillow to match a slipcover I made for my sewing chair. My sewing nook is in my dining room so I wanted to be able to dress it up when I have company. No, I don't actually sew with a big round pillow at my back!
I wanted it to match my sewing chair slipcover and I like the bright, contrasted back with the burlap. This floral fabric was from a 60's curtain panel I bought it at the thrift shop and have used for a few projects already including a nursing cover for a friend. This fabric just makes me happy when I look at it!
Here is my little pillow a little more dressed up and conservative . This works too.
If you would like to know how I made it see below. I hope you vote for my project because I am really excited about my upcycling project I have planned for the contest next week . Thanks for stopping by.
You could always just buy a round pillow insert but I couldn't find one .
Leave the buttons in the center undone so you can flip the sewn pillow right side out through it.
